Lucerne, nestled between Lake Lucerne and the Pre-Alps, is one of Switzerland's most romantic and best-preserved cities. Its famous Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrucke), medieval ramparts and the majesty of the Lion of Lucerne make it an enchanting starting point for reaching nearby summits such as Pilatus, Rigi and Titlis. Lucerne's train station, an architectural masterpiece in its own right, is directly linked to the steamboat docks that ply the lake. Departing from Lucerne means your adventure begins the moment you step outside, in the heart of Switzerland's most authentic and picturesque landscapes.
Why depart from Lucerne?
Lucerne is the beating heart of traditional Switzerland. Unlike Zurich, here the mountains and the lake are within arm's reach from the moment you exit the station. The steamboats on Lake Lucerne depart from docks just a 2-minute walk away, and Mount Pilatus towers directly above the city. It is the natural starting point for our tours combining a lake cruise with a mountain excursion — a quintessentially Swiss experience found nowhere else.
Popular tours from Lucerne
From Lucerne, the most requested tours are the Pilatus Golden Round Trip (boat + cogwheel railway + cable car), the Mount Rigi excursion with lake cruise, the guided old town walking tour of Lucerne, the private yacht cruise on the lake and the Night Watchman's evening tour. To reach Jungfraujoch or Mount Titlis, Lucerne is also an excellent departure point with quick connections.
